The winner of X Factor 2011 will reportedly release a cover of the Damien Rice hit Cannonball as their debut single.
According to reports, the hit song is one of three which X Factor bosses are currently considering for the winner to record and release in time for the Christmas charts.
Cannonball has been covered by various X Factor auditionees, and even re-entered the charts at No 9 in September this year – higher than it’s original No 19 placing.
A source told The Sun: "It's one of three songs being considered for release.
"The acts are still recording the different options but Cannonball has a good shot. It would be a safe bet to sell well in the run-up to Christmas."
According to the reports, the final four – Amelia Lily and Misha B in the Girls category, Marcus Collins in the Boys, and Little Mix in the Groups – have all recorded their own versions of Cannonball in case they win The X Factor crown this year.
The X Factor Final will be held over the weekend of Saturday December 10 and Sunday December 11, when the winner will be announced.
This weekend the final four will battle it out at the Semi Final stage, with one more act leaving on Sunday night’s show (December 4).
