Modest singer Susan Boyle has revealed that she sees herself as ‘just an ordinary person’.

The international star still can’t believe that she’s managed to achieve her dream of becoming a professional singer, and she often has to pinch herself to remind herself of how far she’s come since her appearance on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009.

In intimate documentary Susan Boyle: An Unlikely Superstar, the singer admitted that she fears losing her success and said:

Unlikely Superstar Susan Boyle is just an ordinary person

“The dream is not a nightmare, it’s pleasant and I don’t want it to end. Everybody has a sell by date and when that date comes they’ll let you know. Until that comes I’ll enjoy the moment.”

Susan has dreamed of becoming a singer since childhood, and she has had phenomenal success, having become the first female artists ever to have two albums reach number one in the UK and the US in one year; a feat only matched by The Beatles.

The singer, who was unemployed and living on benefits before reaching the dizzy heights of fame, takes her job very seriously and puts a lot of emotion into her singing. She admitted that she works extremely hard to maintain her success and said:

“You have to be in the zone or you can’t work effectively. You’re providing a kind of service for the public, you’re providing a product, so you can’t come in here [to the recording studio] and say you’re not in the mood for this or you’d be cheating the public.

“You’d be letting yourself down because this is why I went through Britain’s Got Talent so I could do stuff like this. The only person who can end it all is the person themselves and I don’t want to do that. “
