A revealing documentary about singer Susan Boyle is to be shown on STV in November. Susan Boyle: An Unlikely Superstar gives a revealing insight into the life of the Scottish singer who achieved world wide acclaim after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009.
Known for her powerful and heart stopping voice, Susan has become the first artist in the history of the charts to have two albums reach number one in the UK and American album charts in a 12 month period.
The talented singer has also sold over 14 million albums worldwide, has reached number one in the album charts in over 30 countries and has been awarded with three Guinness World Records.
The one-off special, made by Firecracker Films, was produced by award-winning director Osca Humphreys, who was given three months access to Susan during a pivotal point in her life.
The hour-long documentary follows Susan around the world from China to New York and charts Susan’s life from her local Scottish community to working on her new album in the recording studio and her international performances.
There are revealing interviews with personal friends and colleagues and a candid chat with Simon Cowell, Susan’s mentor and one of the most influential people in showbiz.
Susan openly talks about her hopes and fears, her childhood home, her adoring fans and who her ideal man would be, and she reveals intimate details about fame, childhood bullying and loneliness.
Susan Boyle: An Unlikely Superstarwill be shown on STV on Friday November 4 at 9pm.
