Popstar to Operastar winner Darius Campbell has revealed that he almost lost six songs from his new album when his computer crashed.
The 31-year-old was desperately worried that the data for the tracks had been wiped following a computer crash.
He told the Daily Record that Andy Watson, of Databusters, was able to retrieve the files and save him from having to redo six months of work.
Darius said: "One of my bags was badly handled and the hard drive was damaged.
"I was gutted. It was the only copy I had left and I thought that was it.The technical experts at Apple said nothing could be done and in London no one could help. I saw this place [in Glasgow] called Databusters and walked in.
"I couldn't believe it when he emailed me my demos in few days."
Darius told the newspaper his third album will be a "mix of Michael Buble and Amy Winehouse-influenced Motown tracks".
He said: "It is totally different from what I have done before. It's a modern approach on crooning standards."
