The X Factor is reportedly to have an Amy Winehouse tribute week during the live shows.
Simon Cowell is said to have planned for contestants to honour the late singer's "amazing talent".
A source told the Sunday Mirror: "[Simon] felt it was only right for X Factor to honour Amy.
"She epitomises everything the show is about - a normal person with an amazing voice who will be remembered as a British music icon for ever."
Last year's series of the talent show featured weeks dedicated to Sir Elton John and The Beatles.
It is thought that Amy, who passed away in July at the age of 27, was a big X Factor fan.
X Factor 2010 winner Matt Cardle sang Amy Winehouse's You Know I'm No Good for his audition.
The X Factor continues next Saturday at 8.15pm on STV.
