Frank Foster has quickly established his bad boy credentials on the street with actor Andrew Lancel saying his character is a “bad man”.

The former Bill actor hopes the businessman, who sexually assaulted Maria and is shaping up to be the next street villain, will be one of those characters people “love watching to find out.”

“I hope Frank is one of the villains people love to hate,” Lancel told Soaplife. “He’s charismatic, charming and you’re never quite sure what he’ll do next.”

Lancel admitted that filming the scene when Frank attacked Maria while discussing a business deal for Underworld at his house was “uncomfortable” but does pave the way for an interesting development in his character.

"If [Maria] won’t let it go, he’ll put the knife in," he said. "Don’t mess with Frank. He doesn’t worry about using force of a different kind to keep her quiet.”

“He turns things around and says he could take her to court over what she is saying. That takes some ego. I’m not trying to justify what he did... He’s a bad man."

Lancel adds: “Underworld is run by two beautiful women and he’s got power over them as they aren’t doing that well… he enjoys the power he now has over her from a business point of view."
