STV Productions has been commissioned to make a third series of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip for peak time broadcast on BBC2.
Twenty 60-minute episodes will be on screen later in 2013. The first series of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip aired on BBC2 in October 2011 and the second series was broadcast in September and November 2012.
Celebrity Antiques Road Trip follows pairs of celebrities as they take on the challenge of finding the most profitable antique.
Filming will take place throughout the UK with each celebrity teamed with one of the show’s popular regular experts to guide them through the antiques trail.
Wendy Rattray, creative director of STV Productions, said: “The Antiques Road Trip format has proved to be hugely successful and this recommission for another 20 episodes of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip shows what a popular addition it is to the BBC2 schedule.”
Jo Street, commissioning executive for BBC, added: "We're delighted to be putting some more celebrities through their antiques buying paces.
“The series is yet another fantastic example of the terrific range of daytime shows being commissioned and produced in Scotland."
Celebrity Antiques Road Trip and Antiques Road Trip have both been ratings success stories, and in 2012 Antiques Road Trip picked up the British Academy Scotland Award for Features / Factual Entertainment.
