Comedian Jim Davidson may be set to join the new series of Celebrity Big Brother.
Sources told a tabloid newspaper that the comic will make a “sensational appearance” in the Channel 5 show.
Insiders told the Daily Star that the 59-year-old has decided to join the celebrity contestants in the reality show despite his recent arrest.
A source told the newspaper: “There are no legal reasons why Jim, on police bail until March, cannot take part in CBB.
“[Jim] was in the original line-up but felt obliged to pull out at the 11th hour after his arrest.
“But now, after discussions with his advisers and legal team, he is said to have had a change of mind.”
One source said: “Jim is still in shock but hasn’t done anything wrong and is determined to hold his head up high.
“He has vowed to clear his name.”
Davidson has denied the claims of sex assault made against him by two women dating from the 1980s.
