Jenni Falconer is feeling extremely nervous ahead of taking part in tomorrow night’s episode of new diving show Splash!, so she is keen that Scottish fans get behind her bid for water glory.
The Scots TV presenter will take on actor Jake Canuso, comic Omid Djalili, Sugababe Jade Ewen and comedienne Helen Lederer in a bid to prove she has the skills to dive into the next round.
Earlier today she Tweeted a fan to say: “Will be needing a lot of Scottish love tomorrow! Lol x”
She also wrote: “Morning! Woke up to @TomDaley1994 on @Daybreak reminding me that tomorrow is the day we dive live on TV. Nerves have kicked in.... #splash”
The 36-year-old Glaswegian recently spoke about her decision to take part in the latest reality series, saying: “I love diving. I'm really into sport and fitness. Forced exercise over Christmas is also a brilliant idea – it means I can eat what I want over the festive period!
“Also I was really glad to be able to learn a new skill. And to be mentored diving by Tom Daley – what an amazing opportunity! It's such fun – I couldn't turn it down.”
Jenni has admitted she is also nervous about wearing a swimming costume on live TV, but judging by the recent photographs she posted of her training on Twitter, she has nothing to worry about!
The celebrities have been mentored by Olympic diving star Tom Daley and Jenni admitted it was an honour to work with such a down-to-earth, talented sportsman.
She said: “He's so nice. The first day we arrived at the pool, Tom dived off the top board and made it look so easy. He turned up in a school uniform – that reminds you how old and unfit you are! He's become a national hero because he’s such a nice guy and so down-to-earth, but also incredibly talented and phenomenal in the water.
“He was incredible in the Olympics, and that has been such a huge inspiration to everyone. He is very genuine and generous in training and he really wants us to do well. He’s right behind us.”
Find out how Jenni and the rest of the stars get on when Splash! kicks off on Saturday January 5 at 7.15.
