X Factor star Christopher Maloney is not a favourite with the judges but he seem to be popular with the public.
The 34-year-old has never been in the bottom two and now bookies have reported an increase in bets for him to win the show.
The Liverpudlian has repeatedly been criticised by the judging panel but he has defied the odds and made it to the final six.
With more bets been placed on him, bookmakers William Hill have cut his odds to 14/1, having previously been been as high as 66/1.
William Hill spokesman Mark Young said: “All we know for certain is that Christopher Maloney has never been in the bottom two and some rumours suggest that he is actually leading the votes on a weekly basis.”
Ella Henderson has lost her place as bookies’ favourite. Her odds were 8/11 last month but she is now 13/8, with Jahmene Douglas not the favourite at 6/4.
Meanwhile, James Arthur is catching up with the leaders and is now 3/1 to win.
This weekend Rylan Clark is odds on favourite to be eliminated from the show at 4/5.
Christopher Maloney is in second place as most likely to go with odd of 3/1, and in third place in Union J at 7/2.
