X Factor hopeful Storm Lee has admitted that Cheryl Cole "saved" his audition for the talent show.
The singer was mocked by Simon Cowell on stage as the music mogul refused to call him Storm.
However, Cole defended the Scottish-born singer's right to use whatever name he wants.
Speaking to the show's official site about the Girls Aloud star's support, he said: "Cheryl Cole, I love you. I live for you.
"When I started singing and I locked eyes on you, you got me. I know you did. You know what it feels like. I love you. You saved my day."
The 37-year-old, who had travelled from Los Angeles for the audition, insists that he will not be changed by Cowell.
The X Factor boss had criticised Storm for his "corny" rockstar persona.
Storm told the Sunday Mirror: "I'm not here to be the next Ronan Keating and I am not going to be Simon's little bitch while I am on this show."
