Coronation Street star Charlotte Hoyle will reportedly be killed off later this year.
Charlotte, played by Becky Hindly, will exit Weatherfield after she begins stalking herself.
The teacher is rejected by John Stape after she begins blackmailing him for sex.
She helped cover up the death of Colin Fishwick, whose identity Stape had stolen.
Viewers will allegedly see her send letters to herself and tell stories about phone calls and stalkers.
A source told The Sun: "Charlotte will make life very difficult for John.
"Mentally she's started to unravel."
They continued: "John wants nothing to do with her because he is scared his wife will leave him if she knows they're in touch, but he has to stop her from going to the police.
"The scenes where Charlotte starts losing her grip will be really exciting."
They added: "Bosses are still deciding on how to kill her off, but the smart money's on her getting crushed in the tram crash."
