Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood insists that he is ready for a confrontation with Ann Widdecombe.
Horwood has said that he expects the Conservative MP to have something to say if he was particularly critical of her performances.
He said in a statement: "Politicians do tend to have the gift of the gab and I think people will get to see the soft and glamorous side to her when she comes on Strictly.
"She will certainly give us all a run for our money in the talkbacks!"
However, he denied that he was "Mr Nasty" saying that it would be "dull" if all the judges had the same opinion.
He said: "It is important to tell the celebrities what is wrong with their dancing and how they can improve."
Widdecombe will be joined in the competition by Destiny's Child singer Michelle Williams, movie star Jimi Mistry and rugby player Gavin Henson.
This year's soap stars hitting the dancefloor include former Coronation Street actress Tina O'Brien and EastEnders duo Scott Maslen and Kara Tointon.
The Good Life actress Felicity Kendall, ex-Blue Peter star Matt Baker and Holby City's Patsy Kensit have also been confirmed.
Completing the line of celebrities are DJ Goldie, TV magician Paul Daniels, ex-England goalkeeper Peter Shilton and comedian and psychologist Pamela Stephenson.
