Cheryl Cole has just been granted a quickie divorce from footballer Ashley, but she doesn’t want to get rid of Cole just yet.
It is reported that The X Factor judge will keep the surname Cole as that is what she has become known and loved as.
A friend told The Mirror: "She’s worked hard for that name. It has nothing to do with staying connected with Ashley. She’s built her career on it."
Cheryl’s maiden name was Tweedy and although many thought she would be keen to go back to her roots and disassociate herself from her troubled marriage, it seems the star has her business head on and wants to continue building her already successful brand.
Rumoured boyfriend Derek Hough is said to have been comforting Cheryl post divorce proceedings.
A source told the Daily Mirror: "Emotions don't disappear overnight. It was complicated. Cheryl is terrible saddened and upset over the end of her marriage.
"When she exchanged her vows, she did so for life. She never thought it would end in such hurtful and tragic circumstances.
"Derek has been a tower of strength. And he wanted to be with her at such an emotional time."
