X Factor judge Louis Walsh has admitted that he believed that Cheryl Cole would be reconciled with husband Ashley, says a report.
The Irish music mogul told a tabloid newspaper that he was "shocked" to learn that the couple had been granted a "quickie divorce" on Friday.
He told The Sun that he was convinced that Cheryl would eventually take Ashley back.
Louis said: "I wish her all the best but honestly I never thought they would break up.
"I still thought she might have taken him back. But I'm happy for her if she's happy."
Walsh told the newspaper that he was looking forward to catching up with Cheryl when the live X Factor finals commence.
He added: "I can't wait for the live shows to start.
"She always gives it 100%. She's so vibrant and I hope she's happy, I really do."
