Trash Story Rubbished: X Factor hopefuls didn't go on the rampage. Pic: ITV
Scots X Factor hopeful has denied that the trashing of Simon Cowell's Spanish villa ever happened.
Last week, the music mogul criticised his groups for going on a drinking binge and damaging a £10,000 Persian rug at his £15,000-a-night rented home in Marbella.
However, Cameron Neilson, who is in Princes and Rogues, claimed they didn't even stay in the same place as the music mogul.
The 25-year-old told the Daily Record: "It was all untrue. I'd love to say I partied all night in Simon Cowell's house but I didn't.
"We were up at 6am and were auditioning, practising or being filmed until 1am. And we didn't stay at the villa, we stayed at a hotel."
He added: "After the filming finished, all the groups went straight back to the hotel. We were never anywhere near alcohol.
"I don't think any one of us had a drink."
The Alloa lad added that if Cowell was woken up it must have been because he was sleeping in the afternoon.
He added: "The groups would find a space and sing but because the villa was so big we didn't even know where his bedroom was.
"We were on the bus and one of the researchers read the story out. We all fell about laughing because we'd been in bed so early before."
