Packing a punch: Abbey and Lisa fight to get into X Factor Boot Camp Pic: ITV / Talkback Thames
X Factor fans witnessed a shock end to tonight’s show as hopefuls Abbey Johnston and Lisa Parker fought for a place in Boot Camp – literally.
The Leamington Spa youngsters took to the stage and an excited Lisa screamed: “Oh my god it’s Louis. Oh my god it’s Cheryl.”
She immediately offended Louis Walsh by saying: “She (Abbey) was saying you were really fit earlier Louis. And I said he’s an old man, sorry! I said you could be the same age as my granddad.”
Simon looked unimpressed and asked: “Why did you decide to do this?”
Abbie shrugged “I dunno” whilst Lisa said: “Basically we kind of just randomly sing with each other.”
As the audience booed, Lisa shouted: “Shut up!” The furious girls then stormed off.
Once they had calmed down, they returned and performed an out of time rendition of Shayne Ward’s That’s My Goal.
They didn’t exactly score and Simon said: “You have the worst attitude of any contestants I have ever met on any of these shows.”
Lisa then managed to offend guest judge Natalie Imbruglia by saying: “Who are you may I ask?”
That was the final straw.
In a shock, whirlwind moment, Abbey was so angry at Lisa’s reaction to the audience and judges, she punched her friend in full view of the horrified crowds – a first in the show's history. You can watch the moment here.
Whilst the clip will no doubt find itself on It’ll be Alright on the Night in the future, the girls lives have since been affected with Abbey reportedly facing abuse in her home town after a taster of the clip was shown.
Earlier today it was reported the pair were invited to view the footage before it aired.
Simon Cowell was said to be concerned that showing the fight would cause problems for the girls and wanted them to view the moment to ensure they were happy with it being shown.
An X Factor source told the Daily Mirror: "Simon's first thought is always how viewers will react and he doesn't want to victimise or upset anyone who goes on stage.
"He thought it was a really memorable audition and the girls seem keen for it to be shown as well now after they spoke with the production team. They'll certainly become overnight stars."
