Cheryl Cole turned to boyfriend Derek Hough for comfort following her divorce from Ashley, according to a report.
Sources told a tabloid newspaper that the Dancing With The Stars pro made a visit to Cheryl's Hollywood hotel room as her divorce was being granted in London.
An insider told the Daily Mirror that Cheryl had been "emotional" over the end of her marriage to the Chelsea footballer.
A friend told the newspaper: "Emotions don't disappear overnight. It was complicated. Cheryl is terrible saddened and upset over the end of her marriage.
"When she exchanged her vows, she did so for life. She never thought it would end in such hurtful and tragic circumstances.
"Derek has been a tower of strength. And he wanted to be with her at such an emotional time."
Cheryl's "quickie" divorce was granted after the court heard the [i]X Factor[/i} judge's statement that the footballer had shown "unreasonable behaviour".
