Madeley to the rescue: Richard filled in for Eamonn Holmes This Morning
Viewers tuning into This Morning earlier today were shocked to see Richard Madeley presenting the first part of the programme, alongside Ruth Langsford.
The former This Morning favourite was supposed to be a guest on the show, but he was forced to reprise his presenting role when Eamonn Holmes was delayed getting to the studio.
According to BBC News, Holmes was caught in traffic as he made his way from presenting on Sky News to the ITV studios.
Richard, and wife Judy, hosted This Morning from 1988 to 2001, so he’s no stranger to the format.
He said that his return to the morning show was like “stepping out of the Tardis.”
When Holmes finally arrived, five minutes later than planned, he joked: "Just go away - my show."
