X Factor boss Simon Cowell has confirmed that contestant Chloe Mafia will not be removed from the show.
Chloe's future in the reality show was in doubt after The Sun claimed that she had worked as a £160-an-hour prostitute.
Viewers have yet to see Mafia's audition which will be screened in a later show.
However, the music mogul told the newspaper that the singer would not be axed as long as she did not work while appearing on the talent show.
He said: "We haven't banned prostitutes.
"I think you'd want to show the story if we're allowed - I want to see the story."
He continued: "We can't just take people off the show because they might do something that upsets some people.
"If a person applies to be on The X Factor it's obvious to me that they want to do something better with their life."
The 20-year-old has previously been seen as a contestant on the show Snog Marry Avoid?.
An X Factor spokeswoman added: "We don't discriminate. We will look into the matter."
