Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle has moved into her new £300,000 home in West Lothian.

The Scots singer moved from the small council house that her family grew up in to her new five-bedroomed detached house, according to the Daily Mail.

However, the singer has not moved far as her new property is just around the corner from where she grew up in Blackburn.

The 49-year-old has reportedly made £10million pounds since she was runner-up in Britain's Got Talent in 2009.

It has been reported that Boyle has decided to give posh designer stores a miss and has kitted out her home with furniture from Ikea.

Despite having millions in the bank, the star gets a £300-a-week allowance while her fortune is tied up in investments and trusts.

Meanwhile, Susan is to perform at the Pope's open-air mass in Glasgow.

The singer said she was "humbled and honoured" to be asked to perform three times at the Bellahouston Park event.

Pope Benedict XVI will embark on a four-day state visit to the UK, starting in Scotland on September 16.

Obviously she can have as much of her money as she wants, she's an adult and wouldn't continue to pay a financial advisor who'd keep her from her money.

Unlike most celebrities who go through their money faster than it comes in and end up broke, she's looking out for her future.

    Very smart woman.

I am so thrilled for Susan that she is able to move into a safer home yet at the same time maintain in her own name her family's council house in which she has lived all of her life. Now that she will be singing at a Mass performed by Pope Benedict XVI in Scotland on September 16, 2010, she Lord Jesus Christ is honoring Susan with the dream of a life-time. How much more honored she must feel to be singing at a Mass performed by the Pope than merely to be singing for the Queen of England, the latter of which may come with time anyway.
