Helen, who donated a kidney to Caitlin just a year before, ensured her good luck benefitted others too. “Being able to give a portion of my winnings to the brilliant charity Kidney Kids and the Renal Ward at Glasgow’s Yorkhill Hospital was a fantastic feeling.”

Laura Lee, CEO of Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres, explained why the support the charity receives is so important to cancer patients and their families throughout Scotland.
Over £1.4 million has been raised by players for Maggie’s to date-enough to run three centres for a year. Laura explains “This financial security awarded to us by our partnership with the People’s Postcode Lottery has given Maggie’s the freedom to launch new classes and course in our Centres; employ more cancer support specialists and psychologists to deal with the growing number of people using our Centres, and progress plans for future Centres across Scotland. The beauty of the funding from the People’s Postcode Lottery is that the funds are unrestricted so we can use it where it is really needed.”
