Cheryl Cole is seen breaking down in tears after discovering a singer who has been described as the new Susan Boyle, says a report.

The X Factor judge is seen crying after Mary Byrne takes to the stage during the auditions in Dublin.

The supermarket worker surprises Cheryl and the judging panel with her powerful performance of Shirley Bassey's I Who Have Nothing.

Sources told the Daily Star that Cole was left "stunned" by the "incredible power and emotion" of her performance.

Cheryl tells the shy performer: "That was my favourite audition in Dublin."

X Factor boss Simon Cowell is also impressed by the 45-year-old's performance.

He tells her: "I think, no, I know, you have an amazing voice.

"I don't know why you suffer from no confidence.

Simon added: "I absolutely love her, she is genuinely a lovely woman with great talent and I hope the audience loves her too. She deserves this break."

Sources told the newspaper that Cowell has said that he believes that Byrne could go on to emulate the global success of Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle.

I am sure this person is very talented but do you have any idea how tiresome this "new Susan Boyle" tag is getting? According to you and many other "writers", this is at least a dozen "new Susan Boyle"s who have appeared on the scene in the last year and a half. It is beginning to sound really inane. A "new outstanding talent", "an artist to watch", "a budding star", any one of these would be quite acceptable without using this worn out and frankly inaccurate descriptions of singers who no doubt would rather stand on their own merits rather than be compared to Miss Boyle. When they sell 10 million of their debut albums, when they are 6 consecutive weeks at number 1 on Billboard, when they have the biggest selling album globally for the year their album is released and they achieve that in six weeks, when they have the most pre orders for a debut album ever on Amazon..........are you getting the picture? When all this is achieved and they are loved and admired around the world, then talk about a "new Susan Boyle". Until then, I'm sorry, it's just plain silly.

i agree with ca0911, i look forward to hearing this girl from Dublin. but please stop refering to new stars as being the new Susan Boyle. there is only one Susan, as there is only one Mary. each achieves on their own merit. are we awaiting the new Mary Album as we are on Susan's in November. untill then lets give it a rest. Susan is unique and what happened to her i think will not happen again. Susan not only made us look at ourselves and our "judgement" of others, but she is living proof that dreams can come true. i wish Mary her dreams realised but as Mary. good luck to you.

    You tell them ca0911.

You have to admit that Cowell is going to try his best to CREATE another SuBo.

I can't wait to hear the backstory on this one.

Good luck to her. I just hope she doesn't take the same kind of beating that SuBo took though, and she better not count on Cowell to offer any protection. He'll watch her take that beating, smile, and suck up all the publicity for the show.
