Gamu Nhengu took the X Factor stage by storm when she performed a unique rendition of Walking on Sunshine.
Now, the 18 year old has become early favourite to steal Joe McElderry’s X Factor champion title. STV caught up with the lovely lady to find out about the inspirations behind her confident performance.
Gamu, who has lived in Scotland since she was 13, said that she loved listening to acts like Florence and the Machine and pop and R&B artists, but her performance was really inspired by her mum, as she wants to give her something back.
Since the show aired on Saturday night, Gamu has become the most sought after X Factor contestant and she told STV the interest in her is just “ridiculous!”
Much like Susan Boyle before her, the bubbly teen’s life has literally changed overnight thanks to a reality show, but what does she make of her fellow Scots singer?
Excitable Gamu said: “Waow! She’s got a set of lungs doesn’t she? She’s amazing!”
