Remember the Madonna impersonator from this year’s Britain’s Got Talent? He is now threatening legal action, claiming he was defamed during his appearance on the show.

Phillip Grimmer took to the BGT stage dressed as Madonna in a leotard and wig and performed an energetic routine to Hung Up.

After his semi-final performance Simon Cowell said: “Since Amanda and Piers put you through I’m urging the British public to put you through to finals so these two can present you to the Royal Family and they can have front row seats at the Royal Variety Performance.”

Grimmer told The Sun: "Simon [Cowell] was so insulting. But it wasn't just him. Ant and Dec said I loved dressing up as a woman as if I liked doing it all the time.

"I'm a female impersonator, that's what I put on my application. It's my niche, I'm not gay or a transvestite."

He added: "Even one of the producers said, 'Are you gay? You must be'. My relatives think I'm a cross-dresser now, some sort of tranny.

"I've been married since 1977 and I have a daughter. I'm as straight as you can get. They're portraying me as something I'm not, which is defamation against my character. It's not who I am."

Phillip now claims to have sought legal advice after 53-year-old Emma Czikai started proceedings against Simco Limited on the basis of alleged disability discrimination during her BGT audition.
