The wives and girlfriends of the England football team are to fly out to South Africa in a bid to help their men to lift the World Cup, says a report.

The WAGs are hoping to jet in to Rustenburg ahead of the match against Algeria in defiance of a ban by team coach Fabio Capello.

Sources told a tabloid newspaper that the girls are hoping to boost morale by being allowed to see them in advance of the game.

Capello recently banned WAGs from attending the World Cup until after England make it through to the second stage of the tournament.

Fabio is worried that the appearance of Coleen Rooney, Abbey Clancy and Alex Curran could create a media circus.

A source told the Daily Star that Capello has allegedly banned all distractions, including video games in the team hotel.

An insider claimed: "There are no video games.

"Because we're an all-in-one campus with training pitches at the hotel, we have to be aware of cabin fever setting in.

"And we've all had enough of golf!"
