Britain's Got Talent's singing sensation Susan Boyle has been the victim of a ticket hoax, according to reports.

The Scots singer has contacted fans to warn them not to be duped by claims that she is to perform a series of concerts in Australia and New Zealand.

Susan's record company Sony BMG released an official statement on Boyle's website about the potential ticket scam.

The company have insisted that Susan has "no plans" to perform in the two countries at the moment.

Susan's spokesman said: "We can confirm a hoax email was sent to newsrooms saying she was going to perform concert dates in Australia and New Zealand.

"We can categorically deny Susan was scheduled to play any dates in either of these two countries."

It is believed that the source of the hoax email has been identified but it is not yet know what action has been taken against them.

Susan recently hit the headlines when it was revealed that she is to perform for the Pope during his visit to Glasgow in September.

A spokesman for the Catholic Church in Scotland said: "Negotiations are still under way but we expect Susan Boyle to perform as part of the Papal Mass at Bellahouston Park."
