Former X Factor star Diana Vickers has started preparing songs for her second album, according to a report.
Vickers, who was a semi-finalist on the show in 2008, has revealed that she is writing songs for the follow-up to her hit debut album `Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree'.
Diana's first album entered at the top of the charts last month and now the 18-year-old has said that she believes that writing her own songs has been the secret of her success.
She told Metro: "Never give up. Always be optimistic.
"If you believe in yourself you can do it. It's all about how passionate you are about it.
"Strive to be in the school plays and work on your music and song writing, and seize every opportunity. I wrote songs for my first album and tomorrow I start writing for me second."
Vickers is scheduled to release her new single 'The Boy Who Murdered Love' on July 12.
She said of the song: "It's about when you like someone or you are in love with them and you get your heart broken a little bit, and love that was once a beautiful thing turns into a dark thing."
