Todd Carty has confessed that he would love to walk on the cobbled streets of Weatherfield, says a report.

The former EastEnders star has revealed that he would like a role in the long-running rival soap.

Carty, who played Albert Square's Mark Fowler between1990 and 2003, said that he would relish a part in Coronation Street.

Todd told the Manchester Evening News: "You never say never in this business."

He claimed that he might be able to play the role of a Londoner who relocates to Weatherfield.

He explained: "Maybe some young cockney wide boy who comes up, you've had a few of them in the past - maybe a new generation of London lad that comes in.

"Anyway, give them my number just in case!"
