Cash Cowell: BGT is a ratings winner. Pic: ITV
Britain's Got Talent bosses have revealed a plan which would see the live finals spread over three hours of TV scheduling per night, says a report.
Sources told a tabloid newspaper that ITV executives have nicknamed the reality TV talent show "the cash Cowell".
Programme bosses have added a new 30-minute results show each night for the final week, to follow the 90-minute live performances.
Coronation Street has been moved in the schedule so that it will straddle the two BGT shows in a plan to ensure that the channel enjoys bumper audience ratings.
An insider told the Daily Mirror: "Ratings are still incredible despite being down a million from when it stated this series.
"But we still have no stand-out act like Susan Boyle.
"To have any show screening two hours a night for a week is a massive gamble. There is a risk it will end turning viewers off."
last year's Britain's Got Talent was the most viewed show of 2009, with a massive peak audience of 19.2million for the grand final.
