Strictly Revamp: Bleakley to take over from Tess Daly. Pic:
Christine Bleakley is rumoured to be lined up to replace Tess Daly as host on Strictly Come Dancing. The ballroom dancing competition is to undergo a revamp this year to help it compete with The X Factor in the ratings battle.
The move is part of a plan designed to stop Bleakley from leaving the channel like her One Show co-host Adrian Chiles.
Chiles has taken up a contract with ITV to head GMTV.
Tess has co-presented Strictly Come Dancing with Bruce Forsyth since it was launched six years ago.
A BBC source said: "Big changes are afoot. Tess and Bruce are at the heart of the Strictly family and are dearly loved by fans and staff alike.
"But they've fronted the show for over half a decade now and no one can go on forever. So plans are being drawn up for when that day comes."
Daly's contract comes to an end after the next series according to the Sunday Mirror.
Forsyth is thought to be considering stepping down from the show at the same time.
