Britain's Got Talent singing sensation Susan Boyle has been named the seventh most influential person in the world. She comes four places above the American president Barack Obama.
The poll undertaken by Time magazine puts the Scottish singer more than 70 places above music mogul Simon Cowell.
It was performing on Simon's talent show that pushed Susan to worldwide attention.
The 49-year-old is more important that PM Gordon Brown who does not make the top 200 list at all.
The Times list, which attracts millions of votes, made Iranian reformist politician Mir-Hossein Mousavi the most influential person in the world.
In second place was 28-year-old Han Han a Chinese rally driver, author, singer and blogger.
Meanwhile, Susan's debut album 'I Dreamed A Dream' was only released in November but went on to be the world's best-selling record of 2009.
The singer was named as Britain's top-selling release last year but she narrowly lost out to Taylor Swift's Fearless in the US.
However, new figures released by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) show that Boyle has nevertheless scored the world number one.
She sold more copies of her debut album in the last five weeks of 2009 than any other band or artist across the whole of the preceeding 12 months.
Susan has sold more than 8.3million copies of her record worldwide.
