Britain's Got Talent superstar Susan Boyle may have a £4million fortune but the singer recently sparked security fears after she was spotted using public transport.
The 49-year-old, who has enough money to have her own chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce was seen journeying around her home town of Blackburn, West Lothian, on a £1.30 fare.
Sources told the News of the World that Simon Cowell was concerned to hear that Susan was spotted standing alone at the bus stop.
An onlooker told the newspaper: "It was a bizarre sight.
"She could have a driver in a posh limo at her beck and call but she gets the bus. It shows she's still one of us at heart."
It is thought that Susan has insisted that she wants to retain her independence despite Cowell's advice that she should always have security staff with her.
An insider said: "She just wants to lead a normal life.
" If she wants to get a bus she will - she won't be told what to do."
