Simon Cowell has ended speculation that he will wed fiancee Mezghan Hussainy later this summer, according to a report.
The entertainment mogul has revealed that he will not wed the Hollywood make-up artist until after the launch of the planned US version of the X Factor in 2011.
The news means that it may be a further two years before Cowell walks down the aisle.
Reality TV judge Nigel Lythgoe, who is a close pal of the Britain's Got Talent boss, told the News of the World that Simon is in "no rush" to get married.
Nigel revealed: "He won't be getting married this year - and he doesn't need to rush into it anyway.
"Simon has a lot to do. He has to prepare himself for the American X Factor, to try to create the next biggest show there, and he'll be fully focused."
Lythgoe claimed that "nerves" may also have played a part in Cowell's decision to postpone the nuptials.
Nigel added: "Maybe he's just gearing himself up. He hasn't really known Mezghan for that long. But she was my make-up artist for six years and she and Simon are a good fit. They can make fun of each other.
"He knew Terri (Simon's ex Terri Seymour) for an awful lot longer. It must have been hard enough to propose for him."
