BBC bosses are set to continue their feud with The X Factor by scheduling the next series of Strictly Come Dancing to clash with the TV talent show, according to a report.
Insiders at the Beeb have revealed that the top brass will continue to schedule their show in the same time slot as Cowell's hit programme.
A source has claimed that Strictly will return in the autumn with an increased budget.
A BBC insider told The Sun: "ITV expect us to back off this year but that's not going to happen.
"We aren't just going to roll over and do want they want us to.
"We have been running Strictly on Saturday for as long as The X Factor."
The source claimed that BBC bosses have recognised that the show suffered last year and have vowed to improve the quality of the celebrity contestants.
The insider added: "It's no secret that last year's line-up was a bit low rent."
