Ben Shephard thinks Jason Gardiner's insults can be "clumsy". The GMTV presenter - who also fronts Dancing On Ice Friday with Coleen Nolan - believes it is a good thing the outspoken judge always gives honest criticism to the celebrity ice-skating contestants even though they are often insensitive.
Discussing whether he believes Jason's comments are "harsh", he said: "At times, but he's honest. I think some of the analogies he makes come across as being clumsy. But his is the comment that everyone wants to hear. When Jason says, 'That was really impressive', you know you've impressed him."
The Australian judge - who has upset several contestants with his comments this series - recently tweeted that he thought Ben's ice-skating show was a "waste of a good day."
However, the 35-year-old star hasn't taken the comments to heart and insists he still enjoys interviewing Jason for the programme.
He added to new! magazine: "It doesn't bother me! If he's not got something to moan about then he's not happy. It's a shame, but I think the viewers would have something to say about that, because they enjoy seeing him and we enjoy having him on."
