Christine Bleakley allegedly played WAG-ony aunt to Cheryl Cole to prevent her from having a breakdown on TV, a report has claimed. The BBC presenter, who is the girlfriend of Frank Lampard, helped to console the X Factor judge.
A source close to Bleakley told a Sunday newspaper that the TV host noticed that Cheryl was looking tearful during filming for her first TV appearance since announcing the separation from the Chelsea footballer.
Christine is said to have had a heart-to-heart with the Girls Aloud star during filming for the Sport Relief show last Friday night.
The insider told the Daily Star Sunday: "She could see Cheryl was quite emotional. And she wanted to make sure everything was OK.
"She spent a good ten minutes with Cheryl in her dressing room and they got on really well.
"Christine is Queen WAG at Chelsea now she's dating Frank and it's clear she gave Cheryl her full support and that of all the other girls at the club.
"It made Cheryl feel great to know she was still part of the gang, despite everything that has happened with her and Ashley."
They added: "Ashley probably got a bit of a verbal bashing in there!"
