Hot topic: How will DI Frost's career end? Pic: ITV
The final two doses of A Touch of Frost will hit our screens in April, but the fate of the fictional detective is still a mystery. Jack, played by David Jason, has been a popular TV ’tec for 18 years.
The ending of the final two-part film has shrouded in secrecy since it was filmed on location in Leeds last year.
With two alternative endings, each equally dramatic, viewers will be kept in suspense until the evening of broadcast to learn whether or not Frost will survive his last hurrah.
If Dogs Run Free follows Frost’s battle to convict Gerry Berland (Adrian Dunbar), a dangerous criminal masquerading as a businessman.
Frost will also investigate a series of homicides which appear to mirror crimes he failed to solve over 16 years ago.

Frost’s dedication to his job since his wife died has meant he’s failed to sustain a serious romance.
That’s until he finds himself falling for RSPCA officer, Christine Moorhead (Phyllis Logan), who he’s protecting as the sole witness to the murder of a teenage boy.
Just as Frost finds love his final enemy proves to be his toughest and most dangerous opponent ever.
Will Frost walk away having found happiness or will devastation mean that the police force bid farewell to him forever?
Executive producer, David Reynolds said: “It’s been an incredible 18 years for both David Jason and I. Although this is the end of a very big era for everyone involved, Frost is a popular character and the final two episodes will be a fitting finish to one of TV’s best loved crime dramas.”
A Touch of Frost was first aired in 1992 and, since then, 40 episodes have been show. It was based on a character in books by R.D. Wingfield.
If Dogs Run Free begins on STV on April 4.
