Olly Murs will be a bigger star than Joe McElderry says Louis Walsh

X Factor judge Louis Walsh has said that he believes that Olly Murs will go on to have a a better career in the music industry than Joe McElderry, according to a report.

The Irish mogul has suggested that the 2009 X Factor runner-up could ultimately be successful than Joe.

Murs recently announced that he has signed a joint record deal between Simon Cowell's label Syco and Epic Records.

Louis told Irish TV show Xposé that both singers would have to work hard to build a career in the music industry.

He explained: "It does take about nine months to a year to make a really good album if you want to get the best producers. I know [Joe's] got a really good producer in America called John Shanks.

"I think Joe will do okay. I think Olly's the one to watch. I think he's the dark horse."

Olly and McElderry are currently both working on material for their debut albums.

Epic's managing director Nick Raphael has said of Murs: "Olly is a big personality and we hope to make a big record on which we can showcase his obvious talents."

Olly was, totally and utterly, carried to the final by the big productions that went on around him, while Joe was able to shine as the gifted quality vocalist he is on anything as stripped down as Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word and She's Out of My Life to Sway and Could It Be Magic. The ability to do that proves his star quality.

And, right now, on tour, Joe is wowing thousands, with 'The Voice' that, ultimately, secured him 61.3% of the public vote.

As for Louis, he supported Joe, wholeheartedly, to win so I'm disgusted he seems to have decided to put the boot in.

What a total hypocrite this man is. He was all full of praise for Joe on the show- You've got it all man he said to him several times. Why does he feel the need to promote Olly, is he his manager. Olly is out of tune on a lot of the songs he sings on the tour, I have witnessed that myself and Joe is the only one that can sing live. What can he base these facts on, sheer jealousy that's what. Joe has landed himself a modelling career with no self promotion and this will only further enhance his singing career. He has a rosy future ahead. This is just an awful comment from a very jealous man - For a professional he is absolutely out of order, totally. Why bring this young lad down at every opportunity. He should be left off the panel on the X Factor this year, he disgusts me.
