UK Eurovision entrant is Britain's Got Talent reject

Josh Dubovie, the UK's entrant for the Eurovision Contest, was rejected from Britain's Got Talent, according to a report. The 19-year-old failed an audition for Simon Cowell's show before winning Your Country Needs You!

The show to pick the UK entrant was hosted by legendary pop record producer Pete Waterman.

Josh told the Sunday Express: "Obviously I wasn't what [Got Talent] were looking for.

"I thought my audition went really well but if they don't want me, that's fine.

"I'm still on cloud nine after being picked for Eurovision and I probably won't come down."

Talking on BBC Breakfast, he added: "I've always been trying to get my face out there as an artist.

"What a great opportunity this is to go for. To represent the UK - that is huge."

Meanwhile, Magic FM DJ Neil Fox described Waterman's Your Country Needs You! show as a "shambles".

Fox, who worked with Waterman on Pop Idol, said the quality of the contestants was embarassing.

He said: "We have not got a chance of ever winning Eurovision if that is the best we can do.

"There were people singing on there who were so tone deaf, it really was embarrassing.

"And Pete Waterman didn't say 'that was awful'. He would have said that on Pop Idol."

He added: "An average song and an average singer. Best of luck and all that, but crikey there must be better than that surely."

Josh will represent the UK in Norway, singing a Waterman and Mike Stock track 'That Sounds Good To Me'.
