Who d'you love?: Karen will snog the new Doctor.
Scot Karen Gillan will become the envy of red-blooded female Doctor Who fans with the latest storyline. She gets to romance handsome new Doctor Matt Smith.
Karen, 22, told Grazia magazine: “There is kissing. It is fair to say she is attracted to the Doctor.”
But she added: “I don't think that she's in love with him. She's not this love sick puppy following him around.”
Karen, from Inverness, follows in the footsteps of the likes of Billie Piper and Catherine Tate and will become a household name. But she’s already determined to make the part of Amy Pond her own.
She said: “She (Amy) gets to wear all these small skirts, which I will admit was very cold, but also very cool.
“They originally wanted to put me in trousers, but I did say I'd like to wear a skirt because – you'll understand when you watch it.
“Actually I think I love Amy. I'm in love with her. I want to be her.”
However, her model-girl looks didn’t always work in her favour. At school, she was picked on for her flame-coloured locks.
She said: “I got teased for being a redhead when I was younger, which is strange because I'm Scottish and there are loads of us - we should unite forces.”
Karen and Matt hit the screens with the start of the new series at Easter.
