Cheryl Cole and her husband Ashley argued over will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas before they split up, according to reports. It has been claimed that the Chelsea defender told his wife that he was "sick" of the attention the singer was giving her.
The X Factor judge and will.i.am worked together on her debut solo album `3 Words'.
Although there was not suggestion there was any romantic involvement between the two, the Black Eyed Peas singer has confessed that he is attracted to Cheryl.
Speaking to the News of the World about the split, will.i.am said: "What's that about? Cheryl's too nice to be cheated on.
"I don't know what he's doing. If she was someone out in the clubs then I would understand it.
"But she's not. She's the prettiest, hottest girl. She deserves better."
However, he joked: "It's great news. I'm texting her right now actually."
A source told The Sun: "will.i.am's comments about his wife are not news or a surprise to Ashley. He and Cheryl rowed about it last year.
"She's done absolutely nothing wrong but Ashley's sick of this man openly making advances toward his missus."
