Dancing on Ice reject Danny Young has said that one of the lady contestants will go on to win this year's championship.

The 24-year-old actor missed out on a place in the semi-finals of the competition after losing out in the skate-off with Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson on Sunday night.

Young told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning he believed that Daniella Westbrook or Hayley Tamaddon would be eventually crowned Dancing on Ice queen.

The former Coronation Street star admitted that Kieron Richardson or Gary Lucy would be unlikely challengers for the title.

He explained: "I think that Danniella stands a chance of winning it. I am behind her going all the way.

"This programme has shown that it is not always the person that you think is going to go through.

"Danniella has finished top and she could come through to win it."

"I don't want to write off Gary and Kieron, I love them both as people, but I think that one of the girls will win it."
