Cheryl Cole's first face-to-face meeting with estranged husband Ashley was "calm and civil", according to a report. The X Factor judge's reunion with the Chelsea and England footballer passed without any major dramas.
Sources close to the 26-year-old told a tabloid newspaper that Cheryl was "too ill" to fight with Ashley during the brief meeting last Friday night.
An insider told the Daily Mirror that Cheryl "just wants to move on" and concentrate on launching her career in the US.
The source is reported as saying: "Ashley's friends had told him how sick she was and he was worried and said he wanted to see her and wish her better.
"Cheryl was taken aback by how calm and civil it was. There were no shouting matches and he didn't beg her to take him back.
"Meeting him was a big step for her. She can now concentrate on getting better and is desperate to get back to work and focus on her career."
The source added: "She just wants to move on."
Simon Cowell has hinted that Cheryl is to be offered a permanent post on the judging panel of the planned US version of The X Factor in 2011.
The Girls Aloud star is said to be considering making a permanent move to Hollywood.
