X Factor judge Cheryl Cole is set to quit Britain to relocate to Los Angeles, a report has claimed. The 26-year-old has told her estranged husband Ashley that she plans to take up an offer from Simon Cowell to work on the US version of the hit TV talent show.
Sources have revealed that Cheryl took the decision after receiving assurances from the entertainment mogul that her job on the show was secure.
The news brings to an end to months of speculation that Cowell would help Cheryl to crack the US by giving her a position on the planned American franchise of the show.
Cowell told the Daily Star Sunday: "I'd love to have Cheryl on the show. We have a great chemistry.
"Cheryl's a natural star. People can't help but warm to her."
Sources told the newspaper that Cheryl has informed Ashley of her plans to quit the UK and relocate to Hollywood.
Many insiders believe that her decision is a strong indicator that the couple will soon announce that they are to divorce.
Simon Cowell is said to be helping the Girls Aloud star to get through her marriage crisis.
Cowell added: "Cheryl's a tough cookie. She'll be fine."
