Christine Bleakley completed her Water Ski Challenge for Sport Relief this morning (12.03.10).
'The One Show' presenter finally skied across the English Channel - the 22 mile stretch of water between Dover and Calais in France - today in just 100 minutes after her attempt was put back twice due to gale force winds.
Christine - who was initially due to start her challenge on Wednesday (10.03.10) - entered the water at 07.46 am this morning and got off to a flying start, quickly reaching 20miles per hour.
She reportedly suffered her first fall six minutes in, but bravely got back up and carried on skiing.
Christine was supported the whole way by her 'The One Show' co-host Adrian Chiles, who shouted messages of encouragement through a loudspeaker.
After she had reached the halfway point he told her: "We've got some make-up waiting on the beach because you're looking s**t."
After a few more falls, the beach was in sight, to which Adrian shouted: "If you get there I'm going to cry. I haven't cried since Saturday since Queens Park Rangers lost!"
Christine completed the crossing at approximately 09.26 am, falling only eight times during her journey. All money raised from her crossing will go towards Sport Relief, a branch of UK charity Comic Relief.
