Charlotte Church is shocked by how "awesome" the 'Over the Rainbow' contestants are.
The classical singer - who is a new judge on Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest TV show, which searches for a female musical theatre star - was amazed by the standards of applicants on the reality competition.
She said: "I didn't quite realise how serious it would be, some of the voices were really awesome."
Charlotte is joined on the 'Over the Rainbow' judging panel by 'EastEnders' actor John Partridge and musical theatre legend Sheila Hancock, as they search to find a performer suitable for the role of Dorothy in a new stage adaption of 'The Wizard of Oz'.
The 24-year-old beauty - who raises two children with her partner, rugby player Gavin Henson - is looking forward to her own return to the music industry.
Charlotte last released a song in 2006 with 'Moodswings (to Come at Me like That)', and can't wait to come back with her "kooky" new sound.
She said: "I've grown up a bit now, I've got a lot more to say, it's a little bit kooky - different to anything I've done before."
The Welsh singer's interview will appear on 'Friday Night with Jonathan Ross' tonight (12.03.10), where she will show off a new, slim figure.
She quipped: "I don't think I've ever been this thin. I haven't exercised, I just don't eat as much.
"And I've got a great fella who's not obsessed with my weight."
