Doctor Woohoo: Karen reckons Matt's the business in a Tardis.
Doctor Who girl Karen Gillan, who plays companion Amy Pond, admits she’s “completely nervous” about how the first episode will be received. She and new Doctor Matt Smith have been the subject of much speculation.
Karen, from Inverness, told BBC Newsbeat: “What Matt's done is something completely incredible. He's completely made the part his own and I think people really are going to fall in love with his Doctor."
The show returns at Easter and fans are keen to find out how relative unknowns Karen and Matt get on.
But Karen, 22, said: “Amy is a very sassy young lady.”She's not completely in awe of the Doctor all the time, there's none of that. She doesn't take his word as gospel."
The young redhead admits that she didn’t know much about Doctor Who before she got the part, but her mum is a huge fan and she brought her up to speed.
She said: “Since I joined the show I've turned into a complete geek and am really into my sci-fi now."
