Going for gong: Kym is nominated.
Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh has been nominated for a British Soap Award. She managed to pick up a 'Sexiest Female' nomination ahead of the ceremony set for the summer.
The 33-year-old has revealed she would have liked to secure a nomination in the category for `Best Actress'.
The former Hear'Say singer plays Rover's barmaid Michelle Connor in the Weatherfield soap.
She appears in the category alongside co-stars Helen Flanagan (Rosie Webster) and Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre). The Corrie trio are joined by 12 actresses from the other UK soaps.
Marsh's colleagues Keegan, Helen Worth (Gail McIntyre) and Katherine Kelly (Becky McDonald) are all in the running for the `Best Actress' prize.
Writing in her new! magazine column, Marsh commented: "I'm nominated for 'Sexiest Female' at the British Soap Awards in May.
"Of course it's nice to be nominated for any award, but I'd much rather be up for 'Best Actress'!"
In 2007 Marsh went home with the `Best Newcomer' prize at the British Soap Awards.
