Fun Lovin' Criminals star Huey Morgan has claimed that Cheryl Cole could have avoided the heartache in her personal life if she had not been a manufactured celebrity, according to a report.
The 41-year-old singer has allegedly said that Cheryl's personal life was a result of her being handed "success on a plate".
Cheryl found fame after winning reality TV contest Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.
The `Scooby Snacks' singer told the Daily Record: "I think a lot of those kids on X Factor have no clue what they are getting themselves into.
"They marry a footballer and all this nonsense happens and it is a car crash we watch happen.
"It's the cult of personality I consciously stayed away from because I was a grown man from New York."
Morgan said that the media interest in Cheryl's separation from Ashley has been too intense.
He added: "It's one guy being unfaithful to his wife and then it's blown out of proportion because he happens to be famous and everybody wants to know what is going on.
"What's going to happen? Is she going to turn lesbian?"
